Strut Your Mutt-SLC Edition

A couple of months ago my husband and I adopted our sweet little girl, Phyllis. We worked with a Salt Lake City foster organization called the Community Animal Welfare Society (CAWS). Through this organization we were introduced to the Strut Your Mutt fundraiser in order to help raise funds for local homeless animals. All proceeds go to help foster shelter animals as well as to spay and neuter these pets, with the ultimate goal that, “Together we can Save Them All.”

We participated in Strut Your Mutt a few weekends ago, not only did we have a blast spending the morning with 2,300 other animal lovers, but our dogs enjoyed meeting new friends and going for a nice long walk.

It’s heartbreaking to know that more than 9,000 shelter animals are killed each day simply because they don’t have a home. The more we read about shelter animals, the more we wanted to help. Strut Your Mutt began in Salt Lake City over 17 years ago and has spawned other Strut Your Mutt fundraising walks throughout the United States, from San Francisco to Austin to Washington, D.C.

Definitely something that will turn into a yearly tradition. 🙂

Excellent thing. We’ve had dogs most of our lives, but not one at the moment. Living vicariously through our son’s. Maybe once we settle down from our travels we’ll reinvest in another one. Love Dexter’s look on his face lol.

The hardest thing for us and traveling is leaving them behind. Of course, on the other hand, it makes it easier to come home when we know that we have three smiling faces waiting for us. 🙂 Dexter’s face is funny! He always looks like an old man, yet he’s the baby of the family. The best was when he was basically bald when he was a pup… 😉 His tiny, wrinkly, balding head was adorable! 🙂
