Is it almost the middle of March already?!
These last few weeks have flown by! Between a concussion and physical therapy for a sprained elbow ligament, I have been researching and booking our trip to Norway this May. After checking and double checking our information (and calling my grandma and cousin to re-confirm dates), I was able to find competitive flights overseas and have finished booking the remainder of our vacation.
We will be spending seven days on a cruise along the western coast of Norway, visiting beautiful coastal cities such as Bergen and Ålesund, and exploring two of the most breathtaking fjords in the world: Gierangerfjord and Sognefjord (fjord sounds like fi-yord, only one syllable). After our cruise we are meeting up with family in Oslo to explore our roots and the capital’s history. I am very excited because Oslo was included in the New York Times list of 46 places to Go in 2013.
As I discussed in a previous post, I am still learning Norwegian and I am almost through the entire set of lessons (I guess my husband will have to order me the next set of lessons–hint, hint) 😉 Once I was able to politely order a glass of beer in Norwegian, I knew that my learning had been a success! I still have a long ways to go in order to be fluent but one day I hope to be there.
For now, this dream trip is only 65 days away…
