As I’m packing up our apartment, I can’t help but reflect back on everything that has happened over the last two years. When you put it into perspective, two years is a very short time life, yet these last two years have been filled with so many opportunities for growth and change that I don’t know if we will ever experience so much change in such a short time again.
It all began two years ago when I received an amazing job offer down in Salt Lake City. We knew that I had been presented with a life-changing career opportunity, so we took a leap of faith and started on a new adventure together. We packed up our lives in Idaho and moved down to Utah.
When I reflect back on those first six months in the big city, I get that “butterfly” feeling again; there was so much to-do and so much to explore. The feeling of new-ness and a new adventure is one of the best feelings that I have ever experienced.
Two years later, and I can’t express how incredibly happy we are with our decision. We are extremely fortunate to have the careers that we do, and we’ve made some amazing friends who have helped make this new city our “home.” The last two years have included many life changing events, some good, some bad, but all for the best.
As I look towards the future I can only hope that the next two years will be as good to us as the last two years. Frank Sinatra said it best when he said, “The best is yet to come.”
