Follow Your Heart

Is there something that you’ve always wanted to do? A dream or wish that is always followed by, “if only,” or “maybe one day.” Well I’m here to ask you: why not today? What’s stopping you?

After reading Steve Jobs, by Walter Isaacson, there is one passage that has stuck with me. So much so, that I have it stored on my phone and I read it daily:

“Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything–all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure–these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.”

    A great quote. Figured that one out a few years ago. Still asking myself why I didn’t think this way 30 years ago.

    Wow, I can totally relate to this. This is a huge motto in my life. You’ve only got one life to live so I choose to live it =)
