A Colorado River Adventure: Picturesque Horseshoe Bend

I began sharing details about our Southwestern Road trip over a month ago, however with the holidays, reminiscing¬†about 2016, and our recent trip to Hawaii I got a little sidetracked. ((SQUIRREL!)) ūüėČ Let’s finish our Grand adventure, shall we? After three incredible days at my childhood playground of Lake Powell, it was time to continue down the Colorado River to the¬†Grand Finale¬†of this last-minute road trip. But first… a quick pit-stop. We’ve all seen the incredible pictures of Horseshoe Bend, yet I never realized just how close it was to Lake…

Aloha, Adventurers!

Aloha my friends! We just returned home from our visit to Madame Pele’s Palace on the Big Island. This trip was full of awesomeness and some of our most memorable moments to date (I cannot wait to share!). From the lush jungles of Pahoa, to the sunny shores of Kona, and all the diverse ecosystems packed in between, we enjoyed all that the Big Island has to offer (especially the bright, sunny, 80 degree days). I have so many new adventures to share with you over the next few weeks but before we jump in — fins first…

Hawaii on a Budget

Welcome back to part¬†two in my two-part Aloha-inspired series! My last post detailed how to¬†plan a trip to Hawaii¬†and today I’m going to share my favorite tips on Scoring a Fantastic Deal!¬†A lot of folks assume that Hawaii is insanely expensive, so today let’s discuss how to travel to Hawaii for around¬†$1,300!¬†No, that’s not a tag line to grab your attention — although it definitely should¬†— a week in Hawaii for just over $1,300 a person¬†is¬†a great deal in my travel…

Hawaii 101: Let’s Plan a Trip!

The question most often found in my inbox goes something like:¬†“I’m trying to plan a trip to Hawaii. Will you give me some advice about where to start and also some recommendations about what we should see while we’re there?” I love that my readers, friends, and family turn to me for advice about traveling and planning trips. It makes me so happy to help others achieve their travel dreams! And while I’m not technically a certified Hawaiian expert, ūüėČ I have learned a thing or two on our eight different trips…

Resolutions & 101 goals in 1001 days {Round 3}

Happy New Years my friends! I have a feeling that¬†2017 will be the¬†best year yet! It’s that time of year when everyone is looking ahead at the promise of a new year. Gyms are packed, diets have begun, promises have been¬†made to save more and spend less, and personal improvement books are being dusted off of the shelves. I personally enjoy creating lists and love the feeling of accomplishment when everything on that list¬†is completed, however, for 2017 I’ve decided not to create any¬†New Years Resolutions. Instead I’m turning…

2016: A Year of New Adventures

One of my friends once jokingly said to me, “You’re going to need a few lifetimes to see and experience everything on your¬†Bucket List” — and I couldn’t agree more. I’ve had this fear that there are¬†too many places to visit¬†and not nearly enough time to explore each destination for a while now; and while I’ve made quite the dent in my Bucket List, I still have a long ways to go. I am always on the prowl to find¬†new¬†destinations to add to my Bucket…
